Kent Island, Md.

Kent Island is the largest island in the Chesapeake Bay, separated from the rest of the Eastern Shore by Kent Narrows. Visitors to the Eastern Shore all pass through this area when they get off the Bay Bridge. Kent Island was also the first English settlement in the state of Maryland.

Today, there are many fine seafood restaurants on the island, plus marinas and condos for people passing through. Towns on the island include Stevensville and Chester — larger than any of Queen Anne’s County’s incorporated towns. This are provides extremely easy access to Annapolis, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
